PROCHAINES ÉTAPES

Le camp Prochaines étapes accueille tous les enfants dont l’âge se situe entre 6 et 12 ans, surtout ceux qui ont un trouble du spectre de l’autisme (TSA) ou un diagnostic probable de TSA, des retards de langage ou des troubles d’apprentissage. Grâce à l’activité physique, à la programmation informatique, aux arts, à la natation et plus encore, les campeurs et campeuses explorent des thèmes portant sur les habiletés sociales, la communication et la régulation des émotions. Nous avons établi un partenariat avec l’École de physiothérapie et d’ergothérapie de l’Université McGill afin d’avoir à notre disposition un étudiant à temps plein en ergothérapie, sous la supervision d’un ergothérapeute agréé. Cet étudiant travaillera individuellement avec les campeurs et campeuses et participera aux activités de groupe. Le camp Prochaines étapes offre aux campeurs et campeuses l’occasion d’acquérir et de mettre en pratique les habiletés liées à l’autonomie dans un cadre sûr, amusant et attrayant. Les frères, les sœurs et les amis sont également invités à participer!

Dear Families, 

​

We have so appreciated your enthusiasm and support for our school the Little Red Playhouse, Coco’s Camp, and of course, our expanded programming for older children at Next Steps Camp over the years. As you know Next Steps Camp has grown very quickly in the few years we’ve offered it, and it has been such an honour and a joy to spend our summers together. Your child’s safety and development is of our utmost concern, and unfortunately without access this year to appropriate space due to renovations scheduled to take place in all of our multiple partnered locations, we will not be offering our Next Steps Camp programming for Summer 2024. We have spent a great deal of time and resources working to find alternatives but at this time we have had to make the difficult decision to cancel programming.

We understand that there is a large hole in the community for our families who need accessible and supportive programming and we plan to be a part of that solution in the future. As we look forward to the future we plan to expand our services to include greater family support and hope to be able to offer summer programming in the future, we look forward to welcoming everyone back at that time. If you require any further information or suggestions for alternate programming for this summer please do not hesitate to reach out.
